The Artist

The Artist's Journey

"I do not shape the wood; I listen to it."

My journey began in the quiet forests of the Pacific Northwest, where the silence speaks louder than words. I learned early on that nature is the original artist. The wind sculpts the cliffs, the water smooths the stones, and time etches stories into the bark of ancient trees.

Artilora was born from a desire to collaborate with these natural forces. My role is not to impose my will upon the material, but to uncover the form that has been waiting within it for centuries.

The Process of Revelation

01

Discovery

It begins with a walk. Finding the piece of wood or stone that calls out. It might be a fallen branch, a driftwood root, or a river stone.

02

Dialogue

Before a single cut is made, I spend days observing the material. Understanding its grain, its flaws, and its hidden strength.

03

Refinement

Using traditional tools, I gently remove the excess, allowing the inner form to emerge. It is a process of subtraction to achieve wholeness.
